A prolific author, Dr Collins has published several books on John Wesley and Methodism, including: The Theology of John Wesley: Holy Love and the Shape of Grace (2007), John 
Wesley: A Theological Journey (2003), A Real Christian: The Life of John Wesley (1999), The Scripture Way of Salvation: The Heart of John Wesley’s Theology (1997). He is a past president of the Wesleyan Theological Society, a recent member of the steering committee of the Wesleyan Studies group of the American Academy of Religion, a current member of the steering committee of the Oxford Institute of Methodist Theological Studies, and a member of the editorial board for the Asbury Theological Journal.
