‘Hearing and Obeying God: Mentoring Teenagers in Practicing the Presence of God’ (NTC), 2024.
Wendy’s thesis seeks to answer the question, "How might adults mentor teenagers into the practice of the presence of God?" The thesis is interdisciplinary in nature drawing on Wesleyan history and theology, sociology, and developmental psychology to understand how United Methodist high school youth in the Midwest Region of the United States experience God's presence, hear God's voice, and respond to God's calling as disciples of Jesus Christ. The desired outcome for the research is to determine best practices for mentoring adolescents into the practice of the presence of God for the sake of mission in the world.
